WordPress essentially started out as a blogging engine, a tool which easily allows a user to chronologically add information. However over the years it has become a hugely popular website Content Management System in its own right (probably the most used in the world). It provides the framework for users to easily stylise their content and display it for other people to see and comment on.

WordPress is an open source project with a huge fan base that keeps the system constantly updated. It is lightweight and very simple for users to add and edit content making it perfect for small business or start-up websites. In addition it can be extended with thousands of extensions available and more and more being added everyday.

We started using WordPress a number of years ago for clients who only ever wanted a small, simple website but wanted the ability to easily update it themselves. We have built plenty of websites using WordPress and continue using it as our preferred system for small business and start-up websites.
