Magento is a new ecommerce solution which caters to a wide range of businesses ranging from large scale enterprises to small business just starting out. It is full of features that allow the user to fully customise the look and feel of their online catalogue and comes packaged with online marketing tools and search engine optimisation (SEO) features. The Magento e-commerce system is backed by the OSL (Open Software License) and is an open source project that which means that it is constantly being refined and new features are always being added to the system.

We have recently started working with Magento and are excited about the possibilities. Being open source there are a lot of extensions being developed for the system. One which has recently been developed features the ability for synchronisation between Magento and MYOB making it an excellent system for medium sized Australian businesses who sell products directly online.
