sanofi-aventis Career Management |
|
The Client
sanofi-aventis is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. Worldwide sanofi-aventis are dedicated to treating and preventing human disease through the discovery, development, manufacture and supply of innovative pharmaceutical products aimed at satisfying unmet medical needs. Their Australian and New Zealand operation is developing leading positions in several major therapeutic areas: cardiovascular diseases, bone diseases, oncology, central nervous system, diabetes, allergies and infectious diseases and vaccines.
The Task
We have undertaken a number of projects with sanofi-aventis. The Career Management Project was to work with sanofi's Organisational Development manager to build 4 Career Management exercises to support their physical Career Management resources.
What we delivered
The resulting course was a fully interactive 4-unit SCORM course which guided learners through 4 main aspects of career management using an animated 3D Character (Jane). The learners choose the relevant options in the exercise, then Jane provides them with verbal feedback at the end of the activity. The feedback changes depending on what they selected and learners can print out their results to take to their meeting with their manager.
Course Features
- 3D Character driven
- Professional voice-over used throughout
- Supported by career management booklets
- Interactive exercises guided by Jane, the 3D character.
- 4-unit SCORM 1.2 compliant course delivered through sanofi-aventis' Learning Management System
Technology
- Trivantis Lectora Shell (navigation)
- 3D Character components completed with CodeBaby
- Interactions completed in Adobe Flash featuring pre-loading of all 3D character content to avoid interruptions when feedback is being delivered by the character.
Client Comments
"Dan and the team at Web Circle recently developed the online component of our Careers Planning and Management training package and I'm particularly thrilled with the outcome. A number of key issues influenced our decision to progress with the online pieces and the team at Web Circle helped us work through each of them to find the best possible solution. HR had very strong opinions about content inclusions and this content should interact with other elements of the training package; our own internal online design skills was limited; online training was still under utilised and potentially foreign to many of our staff; the launch of this piece was scheduled within a period of restructure so the pieces needed to be both engaging and meaningful. We decided to use an online character called Jane to facilitate people trough the four Career Management exercises. Web Circle provided all the guidance and templates needed to organise our thinking, prepare our initial brief, and position the outcomes of the online exercises within the broader context of the training package - delivered on time and within budget. I'm not only very pleased with the final result, I'm extremely happy with the way we got there and have already asked the Web Circle team to quote on upcoming projects."
